Portfolio Management

CAMeLEAN/PM is effective tool for macro management of Project Portfolio by grouping projects into programs in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans/Business Objectives. CAMeLEAN PM has the inherent capability to provide tailored interfaces that can span customers and other extra organizational entities. The Portfolio Dashboard view allows the stakeholders get a global perspective of the Programs/Projects being executed in the organization. This allows the stakeholders to prioritize the projects for a better ROI and the visual indicators of the metrics assist in bringing easy visibility to all concerned.

Resource Management

The resource Management module in CAMeLEAN/PM allows definition of skill sets on users and classification of the users based on skill sets. This help to understand and plan the resource requirements for the projects.

CAMeLEAN PM can include organizational structure in such a way that across the structure assignment of resources is possible within the boundaries of set hierarchy. The management of resources effectively irrespective of whether the nature of the Organizational Structure is functional, weak/balanced/strong matrix or is project based is possible.. CAMeLEAN PM gives the Project Manager full control over management of resources across projects. Required Skill sets to realize a task or project can be defined and based on the same the relevant resources will be displayed to the Project Manager/Planner for allocation. This eliminates the chances of mismatch resource assignments on the task and thus negates the adverse impact that could cause on the project execution and in turn to the organization.

Deliverable Management

CAMeLEAN PM provides a rich choice to the Project Manager/Planner to define deliverables to the individual element of the Work Breakdown Structure and/or to mile stones. It allows the project manager to define and track the deliverables for a project. These deliverables may be defined at different levels of the Project structure and can even be related to the Milestones. Visual indicators on the Gantt charts and the reports enable easy review of both key deliverables and phase-end reviews. The deliverable management in CAMeLEAN/PM can also be adhere to a defined organizational process. The output for the deliverable in the form of a file or web URL can be uploaded into the system. The deliverable health can be considered as a good indicator for the project decisions.

Time Management

The Time Sheet management system of CAMelEAN helps in capturing the time efforts spend by the resources on the tasks performed. The categories against which the time is booked is definable according to the organizational requirements and can grouped together like Billable, Project Related, Non Billable, Organizational, Leave, etc. The Time Sheet data can act as a great input for the organization in identifying the distribution of time in defined categories, understand the training requirements, Get a clear idea on where the time distribution needs to be optimized.

Issue Management

A fully grown system in itself, Issue Management System in CAMeLEAN/PM helps in managing issues. Issues may be related to a task or it can even be an organizational issue. It is possible to categorize the issues based on organizational requirements, for instance, client based, issue type based and so on. Issues can be allocated to a user and collaboration settings can be defined. The severity level definition and user customizable Issue Management form, helps in defining a process to handle the issues that may occur during the project phase. Even a customer reference can be specified in issue collaboration for easy and fast resolution. Issues are also linked with a life cycle engine and hence can strictly adhere to a defined organizational process.

Change management

CAMeLEAN PM facilitates integrated change request with the help of the change management system. Requests for change can be created at the various task levels and allows the Project Manager to negotiate the time lines and monitor them.
An issue can be a source for a change request. The Change Request Manager in CAMeLEAN/PM is an effective interface for coordinating changes across programs/projects. The Project Plan, Project Execution and Integration Change Control forms an integral part in Project Integration Management using CAMeLEAN/PM.

Costing

CAMeLEAN/PM allows budgeting the expenses and labor costs based on role costs related to tasks.. CAMeLEAN/PM supports both methodologies- Top-Down and Bottom-Up Budgeting types. The budgets can be defined as the Expense Group, which can be selected by project manager. Expense Groups is a top-level classification of Expense Categories and can further be categorized as 'billable' and 'non-billable'. The Project specific Costing tab gives the Project Manager a real time view of the costing for the Project. In short, the Costing module of CAMeLEAN PM is a professional and comprehensive costing tool to the Project Manager.

EVA

The Earned value indicators in CAMeLEAN PM meet the requirement for accurate and consistent information across numerous complex and interrelated projects. The Earned Value indicators in CAMeLEAN PM help the Project Manager to identify through objective indicators as to which projects are on schedule, where projects stand on budget, and where projects stand on work accomplishment. The system calculates the work ‘earned’ or ‘credited’ as it is completed. The Earned Value Report in CAMeLEAN PM rolls up the progress of many tasks into an overall project status. It fulfills the need for a uniform unit of measure and provides an early warning signal for prompt corrective action. The EVA report in CAMeLEAN PM gives very effective feed back on individual and collective performance of projects. Derived metrics like schedule variance and cost gives reliable indicators of Project health. Other derivative matrix like Schedule Performance Index and Cost Performance Index available in CAMeLEAN PM are statistically accurate indicators of final cost results.

Work break-down Structure

The Work Break Down structure in CAMeLEAN PM can be defined one by one or in batch mode. The WBS offers a tabular view coupled with a Gantt View for easy management and identification. The Security Access feature in CAMeLEAN/PM can be extended in WBS in such a way that it is possible to define users who act as managers of their task and still keep the other tasks for which the user is not responsible, inaccessible. The Template Creation facilities in CAMeLEAN/PM can be applied on WBS to capture and store best practices for future use. By this way the WBS can be captured and reused when necessary. The WBS can be split to any levels as per the need or demand of the situation.

Life Cycle Manager

The lifecycle engine feature of CAMeLEAN/PM enables in translating the process involved in the project into a solution and helps the organization to adhere to these processes. Life Cycle Manager allows creating process structure depending on the demand of the task, project issue or a deliverable. Life Cycle Engine gives a bird’s eye view of status of each project or task without a need to drill down. The email alerts can be triggered at change of states in CAMeLEAN/PM to update the stake holders whenever there is a change in process stage. The conditions and actions can be linked at Life Cycle transitions to execute any action or to make sure that predefined conditions at transitions are be met.

Reports:

CAMeLEAN/PM has a well defined set of reports that assist the Stake Holders, Project Management Office, Project Manager, etc... know the health of the projects being executed by/under them. These reports include details relating to Milestones, Deliverables, Change Requests, Issues, effort related data, the expenses on the projects, and Schedule Variances.

The reports related to resources help in understanding the availability and utilization of resources in the organization, departments, and teams. These reports act as a very good indicator for taking up new projects into the organizations and as a major input for planning the training requirements. All the reports can be exported as Spread sheets from CAMeLEAN through click of button.
